Chanda & Jhuma Receive Their Life Changing Heart Surgeries

Last year we met two spunky, energetic girls in Serampore, India -- a few hours outside Calcutta. Our hearts broke when we learned of their life threatening illnesses -- heart defects. We were compelled to do something. Thanks to a team of volunteers and the hard work of our leadership we raised thousands of dollars to pay for heart surgeries for these two precious girls. Today, Chanda and Jhuma are more full of life than ever as they rest at Calcutta Mercy Hospital to recover from their procedures.

Aradhna Plans to Perform at Calcutta Christmas Concert This December

Every year we host a Christmas concert with music and gifts for children we have provided medical treatment to over the year. This December, Aradhna, a band with a unique blend of Hindi vocal, sitar, guitar, tabla, bass and violin, will perform at our annual concert. Aradhna’s songs are filled with the spontaneous energy of Indian classical improvisation, yet many are also quiet and reflective, colored with the tonal variety of four distinctive string instruments. Smile Train Accredits the Hospital in Calcutta

The Smile Train (an international organization for cleft palate surgeries) has recently accredited the hospital in Calcutta, where our team of Indian doctors, put together by Dr. Harlan Muntz of Primary Children's Hospital (USA), aim to perform over 500 free cleft palate surgeries each year. Much of this commitment is based on donations that will be received for this project. The hospital is grateful to the Smile Train for its partnership and concern for the children of India.
